Social behavior towards depression and anxiety

Being a student of medical sciences I have an interest in mental health. I have seen a lot of people suffering from depression and anxiety. I observed these people closely and the most common thing among them was they lacked sincere and loyal people around them. After conversing with some of the fellows I came across the point that these people not only lack acceptance from society but also face indifference from their own family. And what happens next is they feel it difficult to be open to anyone about their problem and prefer to remain coiled in their own small shell. This causes them to have little to no social life.

The people I conversed with were not comfortable with taking pictures so I had to get these from the internet.

Firstly I tried to get as much as information I could get on the causes of mental disturbances and behavioral changes in these people. Then I defined my target population which was my close circle because trying this with unknown people was quite a risky move as they would not have been willing participants. Then I tried to be a listener for them so they can talk to me freely without fear of being judged because being judged is their basic fear. I talked to them about what changes would they like to have not only in themselves but also the people because if society has to show a positive attitude towards them then they themselves have to do an effort for their improvement. Lastly, I had a meeting with at least one person close to them to show a supportive attitude towards them as everyone needs support.

These are the responses that I got from different people
These are some anonymous queries and solutions provided.

From this experience I learned reasons for mental disturbance, the common factors and society's behavior they are facing, the major cause that needed to address, which is, we don’t need awareness on mental health issues we need acceptance towards the suffering persons.
